The Power of Social Networking

Tammi Brownlee was just three years old when she was led to safety after a fire ravaged her South Boston home in 1977.

Stanley Foreman, a Pulitzer Prize winning photographer, documented the tragic incident that would forever change Brownlee’s life.

Her six-year-old brother and young mother died as a result of the fire, and Brownlee was placed in foster care.

Thirty-three years later, curiosity overwhelmed the woman and she searched for clues from her past finding Foreman’s pictures of the fire on the front page of the Boston Herald.

She sent him an email via Facebook asking if he had saved any pictures from the fire. The email was just the beginning that set up an emotional reunion not only with Foreman – but the firefighter who saved Brownlee’s life. You can read the rest of this heartwarming story here.
