IAFF online

Some IAFF members are emailing their favorite talk shows that they would like to see General President Harold Schaitberger discuss fire fighter pensions.

Last week, the IAFF launched a national public relations campaign to defend its members from the politically motivated attacks on their pensions and other benefits by elected officials.

General President Schaitberger appeared on Ed Schultz’s nationally syndicated radio show and spoke to media outlets including the Wall Street Journal. IAFF members questioned when the IAFF will appear on television networks like Fox News.

In support of the IAFF, some members are sending emails to political commentators like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly.

Jason Hart of Local 92 in Toledo emailed O’Reilly Friday.

Hart wrote, “I am a conservative husband and father of 3, a soldier in the Ohio Army National Guard, and as a fire fighter/paramedic also a member of the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF).  I received an email from the IAFF regarding IAFF General President Schaitberger’s appearance on the Ed Schultz show on MSNBC regarding public pension issues.  His stated purpose for appearing on the show is a "media blitz" to explain the "IAFF’s viral video and the print ad that ran in USA Today" that "blasted the politically motivated attacks on fire fighters."  I, being conservative, as well as a big fan of You, Rush, Beck and Levin (whose podcasts sustained me thru my last military deployment), sent them an email back with incredulity at such a feeble attempt to "go on the attack" as they say.”

We told Hart that the IAFF staff has reached out to political commentators like Sean Hannity and Bill O’Reilly and other Fox journalists, but they have not expressed any interest in discussing this pension issue. Hart decided to email these shows to request they talk to the IAFF.

The IAFF appreciates Hart for following up on this request.

If you want to see the IAFF on these shows, you can make the request by email (email addresses are listed below).

What a waist of time! Does Hart still believe in Santa Clause?
Voting for Republicans is like chickens voting for Colnel Sanders. The Republi"cons" have been conning America for 30 years. The talking heads at Fox news could care less about public employees; even less about "Unions". Rush Limbaugh says "we are bottom feeders". WAKE UP and smell the coffee!

Timothy my brother,
1. At least I have been trying to contact these shows, have you?  I haven't received any response which does change my perspective of these programs.
2. Please learn how to spell and use punctuation correctly.
3. "Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus"
4. I vote for the best person regardless of party affiliation which sometimes means a vote in abstentia.
5. Both Repubs AND Dems have been conning America... They ARE politicians after all!
6. True that "The talking heads at Fox news could care less about public employees..."  Most prople only see the numbers game.  Check the latest polls, roughly half the respondents could care less about public employees as well!  Imagine that, the country split 50/50 on an issue.
7. Watch MSNBC if you don't like FOX.
8. "Speaking of the media, where are all the headlines about the protesters in Wisconsin throwing a "temper tantrum"? We always hear about Tea Party temper tantrums, voter temper tantrums.  Here we have one.  We have a genuine, petulant, immature, tireless bunch of bottom-feeder freeloaders acting in a temper tantrum." –Limbaugh, 2/18/11.
Should I apologize for him?  Would that make it all better?  Sorry.
9. I smell my delicious fresh-brewed coffee every morning.

I beleive in the process of collective bargaining and to retain the process for binding arbitration.  In Ohio, Senate Bill 5 changes in the bargaining process and elimination of binding arbitration which, in effect, takes our safety away... Woah! and I'm a Conservative Republican Tim!
The interpretation could be that there is no process that restricts a municipality from providing less police and fire on the streets. That is what worries me the most. It also worried State Senators Seitz and Oelslager, who are also Republicans, but were removed from their committee seats so the legislation could be rammed through.

I believe the actions of the Ohio Senate Majority Leader Tom Niehaus yesterday, also a Republican,  was cowardly at the minimum and criminal to the max in regard to the passage of SB5.  So do most of my conservative friends!

10. Do not judge me brother.  I have children that do a great job of that.

I would seriously attempt to contact Glenn Beck. He personally has made many references about police and firemen. He genuinely care sabout public safety workers. These peopl are hard to contact. Prob due to the overwhelming emails they get daily.

It's not about party anymore. Vote on character and do your research about your state reps. The chains of the constitution that bind these representatives are the people.
Ed shultz is a joke. He is at best a sociallist who only cares for more progressive government. The country is split 50/50 because we have been divided on issues. We may disagree, and there should be deep debate. But, we all know now there is a problem. How are we as a people gonna fix it?We cannot have a debate if our leaders ignore them and pass it along tothe next generation. If we really understand what out country and our founders wanted. More people would come together. Our founders are at best old dead white guys to most. The were truly enlightened. How else could they have defeated the greatest super power and write the most important document the world over. Virture, charcter, merit, emphasis on the family and individual, and religion. Restore them in your family. There is no other way. Hope for the best prepare for the worst.
