Our 21st John P. Redmond Symposium is right around the corner, and this year it is being held in conjunction with the Dominick F. Barbera EMS Conference.
Join us and the 1,500 IAFF affiliate leaders and members across the United States and Canada in New York City during the week of August 14-17, where the focus is on the health and safety of fire fighters and all aspects of fire-based EMS. We are excited about this year’s conference as it is the first time in the 93-year history that the IAFF is holding a major conference in New York City.
This year, we promise that this event will be bigger and better than ever as we have combined our health and safety and EMS conferences into one single event to enhance your educational experience.
We’ve got over 50 briefings and workshops planned over four days, as well as dozens of exhibitors – including fire service manufacturers, fitness equipment companies, non-profit organizations and other vendors.
Take a look at the agenda here.
Many great speakers will be in attendance, including former U.S. president Bill Clinton who will deliver the keynote address during the opening session on Monday, August 15. Other guest speakers will include Terrell McSweeny, domestic policy advisor from the Office of U.S. Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Paul Pepe, medical director of the Dallas Fire Department.
You will also hear from Tucson-area local members who responded to the scene of the shootings in which Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was injured and from Toronto Local 3888 members who are alive today because of the IAFF’s Fire Ground Survival training on how to prepare for and survive a MAYDAY.
We will also have a very special 10-year remembrance of our members who were killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorists attack.
Additionally, you are invited to the IAFF Charitable Foundation Inaugural Gala on Tuesday, August 16. You can get tickets here for this memorable evening featuring comedian and actor Jay Mohr.
There’s a lot in store for you – so please make plans to attend!
The Redmond and EMS Conference will be held at the Hilton New York.
Hope to see you New York City!
