Ohio fire fighters fight back

The Get Out the Vote Bus Tour is rolling through Ohio and fire fighters continue to make their case against Issue 2 to voters.

Since kicking off the Bus Tour, General President Harold Schaitberger and Ohio fire fighters have made stops in Warren, Youngstown, Akron, Middleburg Heights, Cleveland, Lima, Findley, Toledo,Cleveland and Middleburg.

On each stop IAFF members have turned out in full force and have been greeted enthusiastically – many Ohioans seem to be united in their distaste for Issue 2.

Ohio Professional Association of Fire Fighters (OAPFF) President Mark Sanders has urged everyone to keep up their energy and turn out the vote.

IAFF General President Schaitberger says the election is about the children.

“We need to make sure they have safe communities and good teachers,” said Schaitberger. “We must provide them the same opportunities we had and the best way to do that is to vote No on Issue 2.”

Members from other public sector unions have joined fire fighters on the tour, including the AFT, NEA, IBEW, Teamsters, ATU and Utility Workers, SEIU, AFGE, and BCTGM.

As we head down to the final stretch tomorrow, supporters of Issue 2 are getting a financial boost from the likes of the Koch Brothers, to the PAC of the Building a Better Ohio.

It's now or never in Ohio!! Let's finish the job and vote No on Issue 2 tomorrow.
