October was the month for women to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. Now it is time for men to step into the spotlight for Movember.
This month men around the United States and the globe are trying to raise awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.
During the month of November, men can join the Mo movement and grow their moustaches for 30 days in efforts to start a conversation about men’s health.
Fire fighters on the West Coast are shaving their moustaches and becoming “Mo Bros.”
Members of Los Angeles Local 112 went on KTLA to discuss why they are participating in Movember. Sisters, you should not feel excluded because you can join the movement and serve as an ambassador by helping to spread the message.
The Mo movement started five years ago, and has garnered over 1.1 million participants it has raised over $174 million for the cause.
Money raised for Movember is directed to programs run by the organization’s health partners, the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
