IAFF online

A must read by every IAFF member and fire fighter. On August 18, 2007 two FDNY fire fighters and IAFF members from Uniformed Firefighters Association Local 94 were killed at a seven-alarm fire at the Deutsche Bank building, adjacent to Ground Zero in New York City.  Brothers Robert Beddia and Joseph Graffangnino were killed and 115 members were injured.

Marty Steadman, a former reporter for the New York Herald Tribune, former press secretary for New York Governor Mario Cuomo and the public relations consultant for the Uniformed Fire Officers Association Local 854, has been working on an investigative study of this tragedy. While much of the media has not had interest in this effort, Eve’s Magazine, a prestigious, professional online magazine has now published his report. Once you read it, you will see why others have shied from publishing it.

Please read the article, and please distribute it amongst your members and friends. Two fire fighters gave their lives, and their families and all our Brothers and Sisters deserve the truth.

"J'accuse" was a letter from Émile Zola published on January 13, 1898, in the French newspaper L'Aurore.  The letter accused the highest levels of the French Army and government of obstruction of justice and anti-Semitism by having wrongfully convicted an army officer. His efforts eventually resulted in complete exoneration of the officer by the French Supreme Court. Since the article appeared, J'accuse! (I Accuse!) has become an expression of outrage and accusation against someone powerful.
