Fire Fighters Say Issue 4 is Wrong for Cincinnati

Cincinnati, OH voters will have to decide this Tuesday if they will support to change the city’s pension system.

A private group called Cincinnati for Pension Reform Committee gathered enough signatures to place a charter amendment on the ballot that could change the public pension plans for newly hired employees from a defined benefit plan to a defined contribution plan.

Cincinnati fire fighters say Issue 4 if passed will cause more problems than good. Cincinnati Fire Fighters Local 48 opposes Issue 4 saying that the measure would have disastrous consequences for the fire service resulting in higher taxes, fire cuts and layoffs, longer response times, fire house closures and other negatives.

What’s more troubling to fire fighters is that organizations associated with supporting Issue 4 appear to not be from Cincinnati.

See what Cincinnati fire fighters have to say about Issue 4 because all workers deserve to have a safe retirement and community.

Fire Fighters are also running an online campaign to voters about the effects of Issue 4.
